Trudy Odle
Trudy has been Head of Greengate School since July 1, 2011. Trudy brings over 30 years of experience in the field of learning disabilities and dyslexia. Her background spans a broad range of experiences that include assessment, teaching, program development, teacher training, consulting to school systems and individuals, and public presentations. She has her M.S. in Education from the University of Kansas, and is a Fellow in the Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators.
Marcia Ramsey
Marcia co-founded Greengate School in 2002 to better serve children with dyslexia in North Alabama. Marcia has a B.A. in English/French and a M.A. in French/Comparative Literature from the University of Iowa. She formerly served as the President of the Alabama chapter of the International Dyslexia Association (IDA). Marcia has achieved Certified status with the Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators, and is working towards becoming a Fellow. She was recently awarded the Leadership in Literacy award at the Southeast Regional IDA Conference. Of the nominees across a seven-state region, Marcia was chosen as someone in our field who has devoted herself to furthering educational opportunities for students with dyslexia, in appreciation and recognition of her dynamic and creative leadership in education and outstanding efforts to promote and encourage literacy, reading, and student achievement.
